State Police ID Man Killed In One-Vehicle Frederick County Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer

A West Virginia driver has been identified by Maryland State Police investigators as the driver killed in a crash early on Tuesday morning in Frederick County.

Daniel Edward Ryan, 41, of Ridgeley, was driving on Raven Rock Road shortly after 7:30 a.m. on July 9, when police say he was involved in a one-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer.

Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene by Frederick County paramedics, officials said.

Following the crash, Maryland Route 491 was closed for several hours as state police investigated the crash and cleared the scene.

The incident remains under investigation late on Tuesday morning.
